Just as you manage money and your investments, your marketing should be diversified. Relying on only one marketing vehicle can mean missing out on clients. Plan on a multi pronged “attack” to reach more people.
We’ve talked in the last few months about economical or no cost ways to market your company. But how does one find the time to do it all and when? And when should you spend real dollars?
Keep the big picture in mind. Start with a calendar and indicate seasonal times of year for your business. Schedule those marketing campaigns that involve preparation and more money to hit a month prior to these busy times. This would be a perfect time to invest in a targeted mailing to the people you want to reach. List research and the right written copy are key elements to a successful mail campaign.
Between those heavy seasonal times plan for the lower cost or no cost marketing strategies. At these times look at updating your website with new information or photos of your completed service. Review your business listings on free directories or do a simple search of the web to see what or who comes up for a typical search one would use to find you. Where needed, update your company profile on local search engines such as Google, Yahoo or Bing.
All through the year keep current your social media. If you have a business Facebook page, post often. Into Twitter - make sure you send out messages on a regular basis.
Marketing is a continual process. Let us know if you want help planning your campaigns or to discuss your plan of attack!
